For Celina Rescott, coming home to Auburn and performing at Willard Memorial Chapel is special.
The San Diego-based singer, songwriter and actress will present a holiday concert Sunday afternoon at the historic chapel.
In a phone conversation Tuesday, Rescott told 新加坡多多开奖记录 her setlist will feature a variety of music that includes holiday favorites and popular songs like 鈥淢ary, Did You Know?鈥 and 鈥淗allelujah." Accompanying herself on piano and keyboard, she will also sprinkle in some of her originals. They include a Christmas song she wrote that has a working title of "Coming Home for Christmas."聽
鈥淚 had come up with some lyrics and a sound of what I had envisioned for it,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 don鈥檛 know if it really sounds Christmassy, but the lyrics detail the essence.鈥

The concert will allow Rescott to reacquaint herself with her hometown, showing audience members the personal growth she's been focusing on recently.
鈥淚鈥檝e always sang my entire life, but I鈥檝e just started doing something about that,鈥 she said. 鈥淚鈥檝e diverged onto this career path over the past year.鈥
Singing Auburn's praises
Rescott always loved performing, she said, and wanted to thrive at it.
She took piano lessons from second grade through her senior year at Auburn High School, as well as vocal lessons. She knew she wanted to participate in school musicals 鈥 and possibly to pursue singing as a career. The 2015 graduate frequently sang the National Anthem at school sporting events. She also performed at Sacred Heart Church and, later, Le Moyne College.
After moving to Boston in April 2020, Rescott headed west a year later to her current home in the San Diego area, where she sings with pop-rock band RoseThorne and busks on the boardwalk.
鈥淚t鈥檚 so much fun. I love any opportunity I get to perform,鈥 she said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a place where I鈥檓 most confident. I feel like I really shine.鈥
Demos and singles
Rescott is currently releasing her originals as singles before compiling them into an EP, easing herself into becoming a professional musician. She also wants to release an LP, but doesn't feel ready yet.聽
鈥淲orking in the industry, you don鈥檛 know what the next thing will be,鈥 she said. 鈥淵ou don鈥檛 know if it鈥檚 going to work out. There is a lot of continuous questioning.鈥
Still, she finds joy among the challenges of songwriting.聽
鈥淚t鈥檚 never a straightforward process. Sometimes I come up with a little melody in my head,鈥 she said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 kind of like a puzzle.鈥
Lyrics and melodies sometimes come to her as she runs, training for a half-marathon. Parts intended for different songs may end up matching each other and becoming an altogether new song.
Rescott is excited to share her creations on Sunday in Auburn, but acknowledged some nerves. She hopes to push aside her desire for perfection and have fun 鈥 and hopes her audience does, too.
鈥淥ne of the things I tell myself before a show is that you are probably going to mess up, and that's OK,鈥 she said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a pep talk. I tell myself, 'You will prevail.'鈥
