Auburn Public Theater

Watch the story of idealistic George Bailey unfold as he considers ending his life on one fateful Christmas Eve. Seward House Museum
At 6 and 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, through Saturday, Dec. 21, experience an authentic Victorian Christmas as costumed guides lead candlelit tours of the home decorated in full holiday splendor. Learn about the family鈥檚 traditions through heartwarming memories shared in their letters and diaries. Moondog鈥檚 Lounge
For top-notch live music, Mark Doyle and the Maniacs will perform on the purple stage from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20. Then, Auburn's one and only Christmas rock band, Yule Rock, performs from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21. Moondog鈥檚 pre-New Year鈥檚 Eve party is happening on Friday, Dec. 27, with music by local favorite Psychedelic Sushi.
Reuse Refuge
From noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, support the United Way of Cayuga County while you shop for eco-friendly supplies and holiday gifts. Campaign & Marketing Manager Julisa Stone-Szpaicher is hosting a pop-up to share more about how your holiday donation to the United Way paves the path for brighter futures in Cayuga County.
A.T. Walley & Co.
An event that began in 2016, Santa Con returns to downtown Auburn at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21. This is a pub crawl where participants dress as Santa Claus or wear other holiday-themed garb and costumes. It starts at event organizer A.T. Walley and stops at downtown bars and restaurants. Each venue will serve a complimentary appetizer. Venues include the Refinery at the Hilton Garden Inn, Curley鈥檚 and Swaby's Tavern. Around 8 p.m., return to Walley for a dance party with DJ Mere, who is also hosting Walley鈥檚 New Year鈥檚 Eve party. Santa Con is a $15 donation, join the fun and help raise money for the Play Space.
Roast & Toast
At 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, attend Simple Roast鈥檚 Holiday Party with DJ entertainment. Choose from its seasonal drink menu, which includes a mulled wine special or spiked hot cocoa. If you come in festive Christmas gear, get a $2 discount off of any drink. Also, come to their Countdown Party on New Year鈥檚 Eve from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The bar will serve a special cocktail and a free champagne toast at midnight.
Next Chapter Brewpub
The pub is a great spot for date nights or visits with friends. Attend its new Ladies Night from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, with food and beverage specials. From 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, enjoy a performance by Jim Van Arsdale & the Healers, a collection of his musical friends, including Gio Pettigrass. From 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, Joe Whiting & Terry Quill are performing.
Shep鈥檚 Brewing Co.
Since the fall, Shep鈥檚 has been hosting weekly Saturday night karaoke with Bryan Throw Productions. Sometimes, a fun theme also invites you to wear creative attire. Join their holiday-themed karaoke from 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Dec. 21.
Auburn Beautification Commission
For the hard-to-buy-for people on your Christmas list, ABC is leading a campaign to fund more trees being planted in the city. We can make donations to purchase tree saplings to offset our carbon emissions. This idea was the brainchild of the new ABC Chair Dominic Gambaiani. For someone who drives an average of 11,500 miles a year, a donation of $115 for one large sapling would offset half their annual emissions. For more information, or to donate, visit .
East Hill Medical Center
Now through Dec. 20, East Hill is partnering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to collect new bedding for children in our community. The local branch of the nonprofit was formed in January 2020, and volunteers have since built 1,000-plus beds for children in our community. You can donate via their Amazon wish list or drop donations at Metcalf Plaza, 144 E. Genesee St., Suite 500.
You can also participate in the Sleep in Heavenly Peace Giving Trees program, where you take an ornament, purchase the corresponding bedding item and drop it back off at the business. Tree locations include the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce, Sleep in Heavenly Peace in Fingerlakes Mall, At Long Last, SS. Peter & John Episcopal Church and the Play Space.
