Gallery: Firefighters rescue stranded hunters on island near Union Springs
Union Springs and Aurelius firefighters teamed up to use their water rescue skills to reach three stranded duck hunters on an island near Union Springs on Tuesday.
The hunters' boat became disabled, forcing them to call 911 for help. Firefighters traversed frozen waters and were able to jump-start the boat.
The hunters were able to make their way home with no injuries and a good story to tell over Christmas dinner.
