Firefighters from Union Springs and Aurelius rescued three boaters from an island near Frontenac Park in Union Springs on Tuesday.
The men, who were duck hunting, were stranded on an island about 500 feet off the icy shore of Cayuga Lake after their boat's engine died at about 11:40 a.m.聽
Firefighters used a boat to bring a jump kit for the stalled boat, allowing the men to escape. No injuries were reported.
The Fleming Fire Department, Cayuga County Office of Emergency Services and Auburn City Ambulance were also at the scene.
