The first phase of a reconstruction project began this month at a park on Auburn's west end.聽
The initial upgrades to Wall Street Park will include a new asphalt walkway, benches, a playground and swing set with rubber mulch. A picket fence will be installed at the top of the river bank.聽
Titan Development, a firm based in Gasport, Niagara County, was awarded a $383,542 contract for the first phase of the project, which also includes clearing the existing park and making drainage and grading improvements.
The work is expected to be completed later this fall.聽
According to the city of Auburn's Office of Planning and Economic Development, the second phase will include the installation of a new pavilion and a spider web climber. The park's basketball court will be resurfaced.聽

Bids for phase two will be sought next year, with the work expected to be completed in fall 2025.聽
Before the project began, the city held a public meeting and accepted comments on the proposal to revamp the park. The meeting was attended by 35 residents who provided feedback on the layout, playground and other aspects of the project.聽
