An Oswego man is in custody after a domestic violence incident in the town of Sterling on Thursday.
The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that Zachary T. Ermini, 29, entered the home of a victim who had a full stay-away order of protection against him at about 2:40 p.m. The victim fled and went to a neighbor's home. Deputies attempted to contact Ermini, who refused to leave the home. After establishing a perimeter, the office's negotiations team was able to convince him to leave.
Ermini was taken into custody peacefully, the sheriff's office said, and charged with aggravated family offense (a felony) and second-degree criminal contempt (a misdemeanor). He was transported to the Public Safety Building, processed and turned over to the jail, where he was arraigned in CAP court. Bail was set at $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond, which he paid. He was released Friday morning.
