A benefit for a longtime Auburn musician will take place Sunday, Oct. 20, featuring several performers and food trucks.
The benefit, which will help Duke Shanahan with a kidney transplant, will take place from noon to 6 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus at 47 Market St. in Auburn. It will feature music by The Healers, Bob Piorun and Friends, Inside Job, Bad JuJu, the "Friends of the Rat Pack" and Phoenix Phive. Food will be available from Downtown Deli, Bomber's 5 Minute Lunch and BBQ and Doughlicious.
Tickets for the benefit are $20 and available in advance at Speno Music in Auburn or at the door.
Proceeds will support Shanahan, a guitarist who has performed with numerous local bands over the years. Among his first was the '60s harmony band The Villagers, which performed at Lake Dances at Emerson Park. More recently, he has been the band director for Rhythm in Motion Dance Studio, which will present "Friends of the Rat Pack," and is a member of Phoenix Phive.
