The names of the two people who died in a house fire in Auburn last week were released by the Auburn Police Department on Tuesday.
Vincent Tassone Sr., 72, and Nancy Tassone, 68, died as a result of a fire at 12 and 14 Foote St. in the city on Dec. 31, the department said in a news release. The Tassones lived downstairs at 12 Foote St.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing, the department said.Â

Auburn police and fire responded to the blaze at around 2:10 a.m. Two adults at 14 Foote St. were displaced and assisted by the American Red Cross. The multi-family residence was a complete loss.
