An Auburn restaurant is among the biggest tax delinquents in New York, owing more than $800,000 in sales tax, according to state records.
The state Department of Taxation and Finance Bellini USA Corp., which is restaurant Osteria Salina at 16-20 State St. downtown, in the department's latest  of the top 250 tax-delinquent businesses in New York. Bellini, which is the only listing from the Cayuga County area, owes a total of $359,147.42 on warrants dating back to 2019.
Bellini is listed as "Bellini USA Corp. trading as Osteria Salina" in one of the warrants in the Department of Taxation and Finance's . The state Department of State's  also lists Bellini's address as 16-20 State St. The corporation's owner is listed there as Nicholas Salvage, who could not be reached by мÓƶà¶à¿ª½±¼Ç¼ for comment.

Guillermo Salinas, who has as Osteria Salina's owner since its opening in 2013, directed comment to his attorney, Carl Joseph DePalma.
DePalma told мÓƶà¶à¿ª½±¼Ç¼ that Salinas is no longer the owner of the restaurant, but its manager.
Additionally, according to the Department of Taxation and Finance's database, Osteria Salina has another five sales tax warrants from 2016 to 2019 with a total current balance of about $450,000.
Businesses that remain delinquent in paying state taxes are sometimes seized. Asked whether Osteria Salina could face the same consequence, a representative of the state Department of Taxation and Finance told мÓƶà¶à¿ª½±¼Ç¼ that seizures are a last resort and the department first works to get taxpayers in compliance with their obligations under the law.Â
